Yesterday I Was.....

On this day, 7th November, the fabulous Jamiroquai released Half the Man in 1994, and even though I was only three at the time, I can now appreciate how lyrically beautiful this song is. The song was taken from the album Return of the Space Cowboy, the single reached number 15 in the UK music charts. Now between myself and my sister Zoe, we have the entire back catalogue of Jamiroquai's music.  So here is the beautiful Half the Man.... enjoy!

Yesterday I was
Half the man I used to be
Oh, maybe that's because
You're the other helf of me
Like the spring in bloom
The summer of our love is soon
Every bird will sing
The melody of our love tune.

Send down from above
Unconditionally love
Likened to a flower
Stronger love grows by the hour
Stormy weather days
Make us go our separate ways
Where our love was so at ease
Now you got me down on my knees.

Yesterday I was
Brighter than the morning sun
Now my love is lost
And lonely days have just begun
A solitary chair
For a silent love affair
A king lost his throne
And now he sits alone

Now back in April i went with my sister to see Jamiroquai in concert at the Manchester MEN arena, their first tour in over five years and I have to say it was well worth the wait and the money. As Zoe can very well say she had an awesome night, to the point of excitement were she was physically sick!! That is true excitement for a band, they played all their hits including Rock Dust Light Star, but unfortunatley, to the disappointment of my sister they did not play Hurtin' which is her favourite song from the current album. But to make up for it as the gig was finishing and Jamiroquai were leaving the stage we had seats were in which we were able to see back stage slightly, so we could see Jay kay and the whole band waiting around preparing to come back on stage for their encore. We were only able to take a few pictures of the gig before our camera ran out of battery:

Jay Kay sporting a lovely fringed jacket

And a beautiful hat as usual

Now this is Zoe's attempt at taking a photo of the band before the battery ran out on the camera, her photography skills are AMAZING !!!
