Be My Rock n' Roll Queen

I think my fashion inspiration needs a little boost in the wardrobe department, so I was looking around the Internet for a little imagination. I found these pictures from Gypsy Warrior lookbook for Fall/Winter 2010, I know, I know I am a little late to the party but I cant help feel inspired by the images oh and did I mention the men!!!

The mix of Bohemia and Rock n' Roll essence is beautiful in this shoot; being a music journalism and broadcasting student at uni it can be sometimes hard to express yourself through your clothing without seeming too cliche but these lookbook pieces are simply beautiful.

Rockstars Have Kidnapped My Son

Recently watching Almost Famous has made me even more aware of the fact that Kate Hudson who plays Penny Lane who in this film has AMAZING style. In the film Almost Fasmous, Penny Lane is a 'Band-Aid', mysterious and notorious, NOT a groupie; she follows the band Stillwater as they go on tour around America. As the film progress so does Penny's style as she becomes more and more involved with the lead guitarist- Russell Hammond- played by Billy Crudup. Set in 1973, Penny Lane encompasses the 70's hippie style with her flared jeans and eclectic jewels.
One of my favourite lines from Penny in this film is:

“I always tell the girls, never take it seriously, if you never take it seriously, you never get hurt, you never get hurt, you always have fun, and if you ever get lonely, just go to the record store and visit your friends.”- Penny Lane, Almost Famous

Trailer for Almost Famous

Russell Hammond & Penny Lane

Those round purple sunglasses are epic.

Love the sheer jacket she is wearing.

That Coat !!!

Stillwater + band aids = Almost Famous

I love everything about this film, the story, the era, the fashion, the music and most of all Kate Hudson and Billy Crudup in the same film. I have perviously heard the buzz around this film, and the fact that my uni lecturer says we should all see this film as it will help us on our course - Music Journalism and Broadcasting, and i have to say this film did influence my desicion in choosing a course at university. So maybe I am too influenced by what I experience but isn't that what life is supposed to be like? All I can say is Almost Famous and especially Penny Lane has inspired me.
